KUTUMPA PALAM - Build a family bridge (November 2013)

Let us introduce our latest project: Monthly we are visited by young women, infected with HIV, asking for support in financial and material way. Every year we are writing to various foundations, mostly being rejected since big companies refuse to support single persons. Even if we get support from one company it is hard to have follow up aid. We want to simplify the donating process and here is where you can help:

We will start a sponsorship programme to build a bridge between local South Indian and foreign families. The support will run for three years and includes a yearly donation of 30 000 rupees (around 350 Euro/480 US Dollar). Every year the supporting family will receive an annual report, the plan about future investments and where the money is going. Also we will send personal letters and pictures as well as home made products from the families to prove the reasonable use of the given money.

The sponsored families will act jointly with our organization; we will discuss the investments and business plans, give training in jewelry production and have yearly health camps for checkups. As the government is providing them with medicine, we can use the money to establish their own business and help them improve their daily life style.

HIV and AIDS infected people have to keep their stories private and safe, since it would be their personal ruin if community knew about their fate. Often they have very little money, but many mouths to fill, so it is urgent to help them earning their own money. The great thing about personal sponsorships is the direct donation of money to people who need it the most. The whole amount (minus 5 % for office and paper work) will be given to those families. Since we are monitoring the programme, we can guarantee a reasonable and responsible application of the money.

If you are interested to assist us or take over a sponsorship please contact us via mail or the contact page; shortly we will present you the families and their plans and hopes. Any help is needed, so share our projects with your friends and families or make this sponsorship as a Christmas gift!

Due to that we were able to both prohibit the increase of Dengue cases and prevent the spread of anemia arising from malnutrition.

Every year : HIV/AIDS HELP. Collecting money from different NGOs and private donators to provide HIV/AIDS infected families with basic implements (chlothes for children, food, school books etc.). Based on their disease they have to live at the edge of community and have no chance to a stable and secure life.
